Cloud Backup: your server copied every 2 hours

A copy of the whole server, encrypted, on a separate machine. A failed update, a deleted file, a hack: go back up to 14 days, in a few clicks.

  • Every 2 hours
  • Without stopping the server
  • 14 days back
  • From MAD 30 excl. tax / month

The price of your backups

MAD 1.20 excl. tax per GB of disk, per month. Not per copy: the price does not move with your data.

Your copies, out of reach

A backup is only worth something if it survives what hit the server.

A separate machine

The copies do not stay on your server's machine: if it fails, they are not touched.

Encrypted before they leave

With AES-256, before they leave that machine. The transfer is encrypted too.

Unreadable where they are kept

The backup machine does not have the key: it keeps data it cannot read.

Out of the server's reach

Your server cannot see the backup machine: whoever hacks it does not reach your copies.

Write, not erase

The machine that sends the copies can add them, never erase them.

Checked every week

A check reads the new copies again to spot any alteration.

How it works

  1. Turn them on

When you order, or later, from the server's Backups tab.

  2. Every 2 hours

Without stopping the server. Only what has changed is sent, encrypted.

  3. Kept

The last 4, then one a day for 14 days, then one from the previous month.

  4. Go back

Restore this server, or create a new one from a backup.

Restore this server

The disk goes back to the date you choose. Your current disk stays in place until the restored server starts.

Create a new server

A copy next to the original, with its own IP address: to test, or to start again without touching the server in place.

The Restore window of a PassRoyal server: what the restore replaces, and the confirmation by the server's name.

A backup you can check

The latest one, in plain sight

The Backups tab always shows the last successful copy, with its date.

A delay does not hide

The page says so at once, and an email goes out after 24 hours.

A restore without a gamble

If it fails, the server stays as it was. The old disk is only removed afterwards.

Nothing more to pay

Restoring and on-demand backups are part of the option.

A price that does not change

The price of your order stays the server's price for its whole life.

30 days after deletion

Server deleted: its copies stay 30 days, unless you erase them too.

What is included, and what is not

Included

  • The whole server: its disk and its settings
  • Linux and Windows
  • 2 on-demand backups per 24 hours
  • A new server from a copy, at the price of a server

Not included

  • Browsing or downloading files
  • Restoring a single file
  • A disk larger than 140 GB
  • A guarantee: also keep a copy of what matters, outside our servers

When a backup saves you

An update that breaks everything

Go back to the copy from before, without redoing everything.

A deleted file or database

Get them back as they were 2 hours ago, or last week.

Ransomware

Start again from a copy made before the attack, kept out of its reach.

A risky test

Copy the server to a new one, and try it out on the side.

Your questions

How much does Cloud Backup cost?

MAD 1.20 excl. tax per GB of disk per month: the price depends on the size of the disk, not on what it holds or on the number of copies. For a 50 GB server, MAD 60 excl. tax a month. Restoring and on-demand backups cost nothing more.

Does my server stop during a backup?

No. The system freezes for a brief moment so that the copy is clean, without the server stopping.

Where are my backups kept?

On a machine separate from the one that runs your server, encrypted.

Who can read my backups?

The machine that keeps them cannot: it does not have the key. We keep that key, because it is what lets us restore your server. We do not open your backups to read them.

Can I download a backup or restore a single file?

No. You restore the whole server, or you create a new server from a backup. To get back a single file, create that new server, an order like any other, copy the file, then delete the server.

Are my databases consistent?

The copy is taken as if the server’s power had been cut: on start-up, the database puts itself right from its transaction log. For a critical database, keep your own exports too.

What happens if I delete the server, or stop the option?

Server deleted: its copies stay for 30 days, unless you ask for them to be erased too. Option stopped: they stay for 14 days. A deletion does not make a new copy.

How is it different from Passroyal Panel’s backups?

Cloud Backup copies the whole server, with nothing to set up. Passroyal Panel backs up your websites and their databases to storage you choose, S3 or SFTP. The two complement each other.

All the questions

Turn them on when you order, or later.

From MAD 30 excl. tax a month, on a 25 GB server.
